GREAT SCOTT

I was glad to see I wasn’t the only one that had such a strong feeling about your Scott Wilson article (“Actor Anonymous,” by Glenn Lovell, March 17). He broke my heart in “The Ninth Configuration,” one of my favorite movies, delivering Capt. Cutshaw’s explanation of why he wouldn’t go to the moon, how unbearably alone he would have felt if he’d been stranded there. It still haunts me.

Here in Europe, we love to see our favorite character actors, sometimes more so than the actual film stars.
So more of Scott Wilson, Teri Garr, Cliff Robertson, Dan Hedaya, Cloris Leachman, Bo Hopkins and the like. It’s these ladies and gentlemen who make the real difference.
