Every Home to Get a Business Directory

Every household in town will get a copy of the Chamber of Commerce’s annual business directory this year.
The City Council voted Tuesday to spend $4,000 to help the organization print and distribute about 15,000 directories, nearly triple the amount done last year.
“One of the things that gets the message across for shopping locally is getting the directory into the homes,” said Mechelle Lawrence, associate planner. “It strengthens our business community.”
The directories, to be distributed in August, will give residents a guide for shopping locally instead of going out of town, said Tom Facon, executive director of the chamber.
“It’s a win-win situation,” Facon said.
