Robert N. Brisco has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing and new business development at the Los Angeles Times.
In his new position, Brisco, who was vice president of marketing and new business development, continues to be responsible for advertising marketing, strategic planning, the Los Angeles Times Syndicate and new business operations at The Times.
“This promotion reflects Bob’s outstanding achievements as well as the increasing importance of strategic marketing and new business ventures to The Times,” Richard T. Schlosberg III, publisher and chief executive of the newspaper, said in announcing the promotion.
Brisco, 33, has been instrumental in the development of the company’s new-media ventures, such as LATimes.com, the newspaper’s site on the World Wide Web; CareerPath.com, the online employment service of The Times and five other large U.S. newspapers; and Hollywood Online, which was acquired in January by Times Mirror Co., the parent company of The Times.
Brisco has also played important roles in the development of new print businesses for The Times, such as new classified zoning capabilities and Para Ti, The Times’ Spanish-language joint venture with La Opinion.
