Khamis, from Edison High, is another in a long line of talented swimmers at Orange Coast. The Pirates have won seven consecutive state titles and 11 of the last 12. Khamis won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.55 seconds and the 100 freestyle (56.46) and also was on two winning relay teams as Orange Coast beat Cypress, 71-42, and Riverside, 100-13, in an Orange Empire Conference meet Friday. The Pirates have won 110 consecutive dual meets.
Tennis
Debbie and Lynn Vonusa
* Fullerton, sophomore and freshman. Debbie won the Orange Empire Conference tennis singles title, then the sisters teamed to win the doubles title.
