MISSION VIEJO — A 16-year-old boy was killed Friday night when he was ejected from a car that careened down a road embankment and crashed into a tree. The 17-year-old driver of the car suffered minor injuries, sheriff’s officials said.
The accident occurred at 11:10 p.m. on Hidalgo near Mirador, said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez. Joe Miranda, the driver, apparently lost control of the car, he said.
Scott Brady died shortly after the crash at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, Mendez said.
The cause of the accident was under investigation.
