Disease Crisis

Regarding the global disease crisis (May 20), the article states that population growth and urban crowding are among the reasons these diseases haven’t been controlled yet. We should be thankful that these diseases exist, for if they were not here the 7.5 million people who died from respiratory infections and tuberculosis last year might still be alive; reproducing and contributing to the rapid population growth.
I fear the day that we find a cure for these diseases. Doing so would cause the human population to quickly expand beyond the carrying capacity of Earth, and our species would crash beyond all recovery.
