** 1/2 Todd Snider, “Step Right Up,” Margaritaville/MCA. Snider’s sophomore outing, like his debut, reflects a wide range of admirable folk and rock sources--Guthrie, Dylan, Prine, Springsteen, Neil Young, Guy Clark. That’s a blessing and a curse. While the echoes are often appealing, Snider still hasn’t managed to forge them into a singular voice of his own.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
