Faced with the prospect of increasingly physical play in the Olympics, the U.S. women’s national team made a point of getting tough.
Lisa Leslie led the way with some rugged inside play that produced 16 points and nine rebounds as the U.S. squad remained unbeaten in pre-Olympic competition by rolling to an 80-62 victory over Canada at Oakland.
Sheryl Swoopes had 13 points and Katrina McClain had 10 rebounds for the United States, which ran its exhibition record to 50-0.
