Billy Koch gave up one hit over five innings and Team USA beat Australia, 12-2, for its 27th consecutive victory in exhibition baseball in Millington, Tenn.
Koch (1-0) got the victory, aided by scoreless relief from Jeff Weaver and Braden Looper.
USA got all it needed in a three-run rally in the third, featuring RBIs by Augie Ojeda, Mark Kotsay and Jacque Jones.
Meanwhile, catcher Robert Fick and infielder Adam Kennedy, both of Cal State Northridge, were released from the roster, which is now at 30 and must be at 25 by Sunday.
