POLAND : First Lady Suggests Support on NATO

First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton praised Poland for its “devotion to freedom” and suggested U.S. support for the nation’s bid to join NATO. With a Warsaw palace pond shimmering in the background, the first lady also said the United States will provide $700,000 in grants to help nongovernmental organizations promote civic involvement in Poland’s political, economic and social reform.
