Oxnard police are investigating a shooting that sent a 20-year-old Oxnard man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest, authorities said.
At about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers received a call of a shooting victim in the 4800 block of Terrace Avenue. They arrived and found Oscar Villa bleeding from the chest, according to Sgt. Cliff Troy.
Villa told police he was driving on Terrace when he passed several men who threw rocks at his car, Troy said.
An altercation ensued and Villa was fired upon several times.
No arrests have been made. Villa was not listed as a patient at any of the area hospitals and his condition was unknown Thursday.
