In this 1995 film, a 9-year-old Omri (Hal Scardino, pitured) gets the wooden cupboard as a birthday present. His best friend Patrick (Rishi Bhat) gives him an ordinary-looking plastic Indian. The next morning he is understandably astonished to discover that the plastic Indian has become a flesh-and-blood, three-inch man (played by Litefoot, a Cherokee Nation recording artist in his acting debut) (HBO Sunday at 6 p.m., Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m.)
