The USA Olympic Daily, a USOC publication for the media, chooses not to identify NBA stars by their teams, instead listing the city they play in as if it’s the player’s hometown.
Today’s edition listed: Karl Malone (Salt Lake City, Utah); Scottie Pippen (Chicago, Ill.; David Robinson (San Antonio, Texas); Olajuwon (Houston, Texas) and Shaquille O’Neal (Orlando, Fla.).
Apparently the Lakers’ $120-million deal with O’Neal hasn’t made him an Angeleno in the eyes of the USOC.
