Rapists Should Stay in Prison

* I wonder if Deputy Public Defender Douglas Daily (representing Ronald Herrerra and Henry Vasquez) and attorney Timothy Quinn (representing Anthony Dacayana) would welcome their clients into their neighborhoods, if the two attorneys succeed in getting them released from prison (“3 Rapists Lose Bid for Release After Jail Terms, July 17)?
This trio was convicted of three particularly disturbing assaults: a home invasion rape of a mother and daughter, the rape of a blind 88-year-old woman and the rape of a 5-year-old girl. Very simply, they should never be released and allowed to claim more victims.
Society does not want “people” like Herrerra, Vasquez and Dacayana in our midst and will use any means available to keep them where they belong--in prison for as long as possible.
