There was an odd and emotional moment during boxing’s night session, when the public address announcer incorrectly named Nigerian bantamweight Kehinde Aweda as the winner. Tajikistan’s Khurshed Khasanov had appeared to control the bout.
“I felt just terrible,” Khasanov said. “I started to cry.”
Aweda celebrated wildly, but a few moments later, the decision was corrected, and Khasanov had his rightful 20-10 victory.
