Man Attacked by Shark

TRURO, Mass. — Police in this Cape Cod community issued a warning against swimming Monday after a shark attacked a tourist in waist-deep water.
James Orlowski, 46, of West Springfield was wading in about 4 feet of water when he was bitten on the leg by a blue shark, police Sgt. Howard Tansey said.
The 6- to 8-foot shark “grabbed hold of his leg and tried to pull him down,” Tansey said. “He said he hit it in the head and face six or eight times, and it finally let him go. As he turned to wade to shore it struck again, biting him on the other leg, but not a good one.”
Tansey said Orlowski was treated at a health clinic.
