Ventura County firefighters quickly extinguished a three-acre brush fire Tuesday afternoon near Fillmore.
Several residents along Bardsdale Avenue and Grimes Canyon Road called in the fire at about 4:10 p.m. after seeing plumes of smoke coming from a nearby hill leased by oil companies, authorities said.
The two-alarm fire, caused by sparks from a power line, was contained by 5:10 p.m. There were no injuries and no damage to structures on the leased property, authorities said.
