CHANGING TIMES

Regarding Brad Smith’s knee-jerk response (Letters, July 7) to John Singleton’s pronouncement that things haven’t changed much in 73 years (“Dredging in the Deep South,” by Jordan Levin, June 30):

I’ll know things have changed when Singleton’s directing a “Schindler’s List,” or Bill Cosby’s producing it. Or both. And nobody says anything about it.
