Agribusiness League Gives 3 Scholarships

* Three Fillmore and Santa Paula high school graduates will each receive a $3,000 scholarship from the United Agribusiness League to pursue a career in the agriculture industry.

The winners are Heather Richardson and Kathleen Haase, both Fillmore High School graduates, and Brandon Axell of Santa Paula, a graduate of St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura.

To qualify for a league scholarship, the applicant must attend an accredited college or university offering a degree in agriculture and be affiliated with a UAL member firm.

All three students will attend California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in the fall semester and each qualified for the UAL scholarship through parental affiliation with the Fillmore-Piru Citrus Assn.
