Authorities were questioning a possible suspect Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a Brinks guard in Venice, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The person was detained early Friday in connection with the attack outside a Bank of America branch in the 100 block of Windward Avenue.
The shooting occurred at 4 a.m. Thursday, when three gunmen ambushed a Brinks van, fatally wounding guard Robert Belcher, 47, of Los Angeles. Belcher died at a hospital about an hour later. Another guard suffered a leg wound and was treated at a local hospital and released.
