Taking Issue With State Campus Name

Oh, please, let me be dictator of California just for a moment, so that I may issue this edict to the trustees of the California State University system: Either make nature itself and the ecology of the Channel Islands the dominant theme, or yield back the presumption of “California State University, Channel Islands.” Hey, I love the agriculture of the Oxnard Plain, but I surely would feel cheated if I were lured from afar to a campus there because it sounded as glamorous as the beach at Waikiki.
