Stockholders of Teledyne and Allegheny Ludlum approved a $2.2-billion merger, creating Allegheny Teledyne Inc. Dial completed the spinoff of its $1.6-billion consumer products group into a new company that takes the Dial name. The existing company has been renamed Viad. Both begin trading today on the NYSE. . . . Chantal Pharmaceutical, maker of Ethocyn, appointed Yvette Lamprecht chief financial officer.
