Simi Valley police investigators have arrested half a dozen alleged gang members suspected of beating another man a week ago while he rode his bike along the Arroyo Simi.
Four juveniles and two adults were arrested in the beating of the 37-year-old man, who suffered fractured ribs and a fractured skull. The man, whose identity was withheld by police, was hospitalized but is now recovering at home, said Simi Valley Det. John Parks.
Police believe that up to a dozen gang members were involved in the unprovoked attack, Parks said.
“We will be making more arrests,” he said.
During the beating, one of the gang members grabbed a large rock and hit the man over the head, Parks said.
Arrested were Alfredo Munoz and Olecario Loeza, both 18-year-olds from Simi Valley. They were booked into Ventura County Jail for criminal conspiracy and assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Their bail is set at $20,000 each.
Also arrested on the same charge were a 17-year-old, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old. The three juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall. One of the 16-year-olds was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
