FBI Agents

* An article Oct. 23 reported that E. Michael Kahoe, one of five suspended FBI officials, had been charged with obstruction of justice. Innocent until proven guilty--yes, but this is truly a bitter pill for Americans to swallow.
The FBI developed a mystique over the years that carved out a place in our hearts for the ethical, polite and effective FBI agent. They found a willingness in the average guy to get involved, and, often at considerable personal risk, to take the stand and testify. And then, the Ruby Ridge affair.
Ruby Ridge exemplifies the founders’ fear of tyranny of the crown, a fear that is the very foundation of the protections afforded by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Kahoe and other FBI managers stepped on the Bill of Rights.
