SUN VALLEY — A man was critically injured Saturday when the car he was riding in overturned in a two-vehicle accident that caused minor injuries to five others.
The accident occurred at about 5:25 p.m., on Laurel Canyon Boulevard just north of Sheldon Street, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“We don’t know the circumstances of the accident, but it was rather dramatic,” Humphrey said.
It took 15 minutes to free the 35-year-old trapped man, Humphrey said. He was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he is in critical condition.
The other unidentified victims, who suffered minor injuries, included a couple described as in their 20s and their small child described as about 4 years old. They were taken to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley.
Two other men who were injured--ages 35 and 40--declined treatment, Humphrey said.
