King update--Not only are the Kings seeking their first victory over the Red Wings this season, but also their first goal against them. In October, the Kings were shut out, 3-0, at Detroit, then lost, 6-0, at the Forum in late November. But the Kings go into tonight’s game with a three-game winning streak. Goaltenders Stephane Fiset and Byron Dafoe have combined to stop 91 of 97 shots over the last three games.
Red Wing update--The team put center Sergei Fedorov on injured reserve Monday because of a strained groin. Forward Darren McCarty is also out because of a hand injury. Since defeating the Kings in November, the Red Wings have gone 8-8-4. Over their last six games, they are 1-4-1, their worst slump in three seasons.
