Cirque Act Is Too Loud for Residents

The Orange County Fairgrounds has set up a complaint line for residents who say they are being disturbed by loud music and noise from Cirque du Soleil’s nightly performances.
Some residents have said that music coming from the big top on Fairview Road shakes the walls of their homes and keeps them awake at night.
The French Canadian acrobats have never had a noise complaint in the U.S. and are doing all they can to be good neighbors, said spokesman Marc LaFont.
“A sound expert is being flown in, and he’ll be at the performance this evening,” LaFont said Wednesday. “They’ve been working with the sound compression and density to keep it closer to the tent area. We’ve been hearing from neighbors that the situation has improved.”
The show is in town through April 13. Information: (714) 708-1500.
