Duck update--They have lost four of the past five games against Calgary, including a 2-1 defeat Jan. 15 at the Saddledome. The lone victory was a 7-0 rout Dec. 20 at the Pond. The Ducks also had lost three in a row going into Saturday’s game against Edmonton. Paul Kariya had 12 goals in the last 12 games and had a four-game goal-scoring streak going into Saturday. Roman Oksiuta returned Saturday after a groin injury.
Flame update--Calgary has outshot the opposition in 33 of 54 games, but has the second-fewest goals in the NHL. Robert Reichel scored against Washington on Friday to end a 13-game goal-less streak. It was only Reichel’s 10th goal this season. He had consecutive 40-goal seasons in 1992-93 and 1993-94.
