Like Water for Chocolate (Bravo Friday at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.; Saturday at 2 p.m.) is writer Laura Esquivel’s 1992 adaptation of her century-spanning period novel. Directed by husband Alfonso Arau, the film is a 10-course feast of magic realism: a rapt tale of a cursed upper-class Mexican family whose sexual repressions are exorcised in sumptuous banquets, while lovers wait a lifetime.
