Secret Service Agent to Be Tried in Sex Case

An ex-bodyguard for the Secret Service who was assigned to protect former President Ronald Reagan must stand trial on charges of having sex with and giving drugs to a 16-year-old girl, a judge decided Monday.
Municipal Judge Glenette Blackwell found that there was enough evidence against Timothy O’Brien, 38, of Hermosa Beach to proceed with the trial. O’Brien was held in lieu of $500,000 bail pending a March 10 arraignment.
O’Brien was assigned to protect the former president and his wife, Nancy, at their Bel-Air home.
