BOYS’ TENNIS

Eleven county teams, including host Canyon and third-ranked Santa Margarita, will participate Saturday in the Canyon Team Tennis Challenge. The round-robin preliminary rounds begin at 8 a.m. at Fullerton College and Troy High. Sixteen teams will be divided into four brackets and will play three dual matches of three singles sets and three doubles sets. Sets will be played in an eight-game professional-style format. Winners of each bracket will play in the semifinals at Fullerton College at 2:30 p.m., the finals are scheduled for 3:30. Other county teams competing are fourth-ranked El Dorado, eighth-ranked Aliso Niguel, 10th-ranked Garden Grove, Mission Viejo, El Toro, Esperanza, Servite, Troy and Brea Olinda. Out-of-county schools are Diamond Bar, Palm Springs, La Mirada, Alhambra Keppel and Cerritos Gahr.
