In his first varsity season, LaRue was the leading slugger on a team that set a county record for homers with 49. His home run and RBI totals were school records. “It shows you what hard work can do,” Coach Tip Lefebvre said. “After playing JV last year, he worked his fanny off in the off-season. We hoped he could help us and he carried us.”
