Prom Costs

* Re high school proms: What can be done to control the cost of the high school prom? My grandson recently attended his and says it cost him almost $300!

What happened to the days when the prom was held in the gym or the cafeteria? When you drove your own car or your dad or mother drove you?

There must be many young people who can’t attend because of the cost. Or who feel like second-class citizens because they can’t compete with the limos, the hotel room (for what possible purpose) and the elaborate, expensive dinner beforehand.

Can’t the school administration or the PTA or the parents help bring this event back to where everyone can enjoy it?
