Families to Gather for Stories, Treats
Glenwood Elementary School parents and students are invited to suit up in their pajamas and pop by at 7 Thursday for a family reading night.
Parents will read stories to children as they enjoy hot chocolate and candy canes in the multipurpose room.
Afterward, families will split into three groups to make their own books, buy reading materials at the school’s book fair and play “phonemic awareness” games, which include rhyming and playing with language patterns.
The event should last until 8:30 p.m.
This is Glenwood’s third annual family reading night, and the proceeds from the book fair will go to support the school’s library.
For more information, call the school at 495-2118.
It is located at 1135 Windsor Drive in Thousand Oaks.
