Paving to Close Part of Victoria Avenue
A paving project at one of the busiest intersections in Ventura has prompted city officials to warn drivers to find an alternate route.
Weather permitting, crews will be repaving Victoria Avenue between Woodland and Hunter streets, including the intersection at Telegraph Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The intersection will be closed in all directions at intervals lasting up to 15 minutes throughout the day. In addition, Hunter Street will be closed between Wake Forest and North Brookshire avenues.
Electronic message boards will warn drivers about the exact time of the paving and detours.
Drivers who need to get to the Ventura Freeway can take Mills Road south to East Main Street and then head east.
There is also an eastbound onramp to the Santa Paula Freeway on East Main Street. Another alternate route is to take Kimball Road to the Santa Paula Freeway.
Foothill Road between Day Road and Kimball is a good alternate way to Telegraph.
