Warm Temperatures to Linger This Week

It may be fall on the calendar, but it’s still summer in the San Fernando Valley as temperatures are expected to hover in the high 90s throughout the week.
A ridge of high pressure combined with light breezes off the Pacific Ocean will keep the Valley warm through Friday. Then, an increase in clouds will usher in cooler temperatures in the mid-80s to mid-90s, said John Sherwin, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecast information to The Times.
“Normally, the Valley has one minor heat wave in September,” Sherwin said. “It’s the first day of fall, but it will be more like summer for the next week.”
Today’s high temperatures are expected to reach 90 in Burbank, 93 in Woodland Hills and 94 in Van Nuys.
