Flintridge Sacred Heart Rally Wins

Flintridge Sacred Heart High used the momentum from a late rally in the first game to defeat cross-town rival La Canada, 15-13, 15-2, 15-10, in a battle of Southern Section girls’ volleyball powers Thursday at La Canada High.
La Canada, ranked fourth in Southern Section Division III-A, had a 6-1 lead in the first game and led, 13-12, before the Tologs, ranked No. 2 in Division IV-AA, rallied.
Flintridge Sacred Heart breezed in game two after opening leads of 5-0 and 10-1.
“We came out completely flat in the second game and just gave it to them,” La Canada Coach Tami Aldrich said.
Game three was tied, 10-10, but the Tologs scored five points on the next three serves.
Megan Hosp had eight kills and and seven aces for the Tologs. Danielle dal Ponte added nine kills and Paulina Flint had seven.
Emily Dalbeck had 14 kills for the Spartans.
