About 25 programs for residents with low and moderate incomes received a boost this week when the City Council approved the distribution of $1.6 million in federal grants.
Beneficiaries include the Seniors Outreach Program, the Orange County Council on Aging, the Oak View Community Center, the Special Children’s Connection preschool, the Huntington Beach Community Clinic, the Boys and Girls Club and the Literacy Volunteers of America.
The programs were selected by the Citizens Participation Advisory Board, which works year-round reviews applications, interviews applicants and visits programs before making final recommendations.
