Fullerton Errors Spell Defeat in Tournament

Los Angeles City College took advantage of Fullerton errors to win, 11-8, Friday at the Hornet Hardball Classic.
Fullerton, which committed seven errors, gave up eight unearned runs.
The Hornets led, 6-5, after Bill Brundige hit a two-run homer and Nick Garcia and Brandon Carter hit RBI singles in the fourth inning. Fullerton catcher Sean Kane’s two throwing errors in the fifth inning enabled the Cubs (12-16-3) to score four runs and take the lead.
Fullerton scored two runs in the seventh on a two-out error by Cub left fielder Matt Altagen to get as close as 11-8. The Cubs’ Jason Cly kept the Hornets scoreless over the final 2 1/3 innings to get his third save.
Fullerton is 16-16-1.
In another tournament game:
Santa Ana 12, El Camino 5--Joe Urban had four hits, including three doubles, and drove in four runs for Santa Ana (26-8). Santa Ana’s Bao Vinh had four hits and scored three runs.
