For Ice Dogs, It’s All Augusta in 4-3 Victory

Patrik Augusta scored four goals to lead the Long Beach Ice Dogs past the Utah Grizzlies, 4-3, Saturday in an International Hockey League game at the Long Beach Arena.

With the scored tied, 3-3, Augusta’s fourth goal with 40 seconds to play sealed the victory. His parents, visiting from the Czech Republic, were in the stands.

“It was one of those nights when every shot I took found its way into the net,” said Augusta. “If I would have scored four goals and we would have lost, I wouldn’t be so happy.”

The teams traded goals until Augusta gave the Ice Dogs the last say.
