Fluor Daniel Announces Two Contracts

IRVINE — Fluor Corp.’s Fluor Daniel operating unit received two contracts that should boost its income stream for several years. Neither deal, however, is expected to affect employment at the company’s Irvine headquarters.
The smaller pact, a $40-million contract for the company’s Arctic Pacific Contractors joint venture with Brown & Root Energy Services in Russia, will help position Arctic Pacific for a long-term relationship with the Russian oil exploration effort.
Fluor Daniel also won what a spokeswoman called a “major” two-year contract for engineering, procurement and construction management services for Union Carbide Corp.’s new polyethylene plant in Alberta, Canada. The project and contract values were not disclosed.
