La Jolla-based Jenny Craig Inc. reported operating income of $6.8 million, or 10 cents per share, on revenue of $93.6 million for the second quarter. That compares with operating income of $3 million, or 4 cents, on revenue of $94.2 million, excluding one-time charges, a year ago.

Walnut Creek-based Longs Drug Stores Corp. reported a 21% increase in second-quarter net income to $14.9 million, or 38 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $787 million, compared with $12.3 million, or 31 cents, on revenue of $718 million in the year-ago period.

Pomona-based Hot Topic Inc. reported second-quarter net income of $334,000, or 7 cents per diluted share, contrasted with net income of $204,000 or 4 cents, a year ago. The company previously reported that its sales for the second quarter increased 52%, to $20.8 million from $13.7 million, and said comparable-store sales increased 2% for the period.

Beverly Hills-based Hilton Hotels Corp., the third-largest U.S. hotel company, said it and a partner bought the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix for $116 million in cash and debt.
