Portion of Beach in Laguna Closed

A 500-foot stretch of Main Beach in Laguna Beach remained closed to swimmers Friday after a sewage spill dumped unhealthful levels of bacteria.
According to an Orange County Environmental Health Division status report, it was not known when the beach would reopen.
A blocked sewer line caused the 200-gallon spill Thursday, affecting the area between the lifeguard headquarters building and Hotel Laguna.
