Root, Root, Root for the Home Bowl

Randy Harvey’s column of Jan. 1 is the last straw. The Times has ranted about the bowl alliance and a playoff system for so long that your writers are now getting your wish--namely, the demise of the greatest sports event in Southern California if not in the entire country, the Rose Bowl.
Your writers have no loyalty to this area of the country and have achieved this destruction.
