Chicago Seeks GOP Convention in 2000

Chicago has served notice that it is willing--and even eager--to court the GOP for exactly one week in 2000. The Windy City wants to be the site of the Republican National Convention that year. Democrats in Washington were told in a letter from city officials, said a representative for Mayor Richard M. Daley.
