Assistant Schools Superintendent to Leave for Higher Post in L.A.

Lorene Gonia, the assistant superintendent of instructional services at Los Alamitos Unified School District, will leave her post to take a job in Los Angeles County.
Gonia accepted a job as superintendent with the La Canada Unified School District.
She begins in April after 19 years as an administrator in Los Alamitos, the last eight as assistant superintendent.
Gonia’s new district is in La Canada-Flintridge. Gonia lives in Irvine but plans to move closer to her new job.
The district has three elementary schools and a campus for grades seven to 12.
Districtwide enrollment is 4,250.
