We value the work of Mary Beth Sheridan for letting us present our side of the story (“A Growing Faith--and Outrage,” March 10).
To those so-called “critics” who started a campaign a year ago against our church, the proper authorities have asked for evidence and proof; there is none regarding sex abuses, harassment or any attack against their persons. Even their stories are contradictory.
Critic Lourdes Arguelles lacks any proof that we are “destructive.” She calls us (the millions who belong to the church) “powerless people” that she wants to protect. The real problem in Ontario is the Mountain Avenue property; we brought a gold mine without knowing it.
There is no exodus of members. After a year of attacks, the church is the second largest in Mexico. The acceptance of the church is growing; any person visiting the church will find out for himself.
