La Canada 35, Hoover 12--The Spartans scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to break open a tight nonleague game at La Canada.
La Canada (2-3) got most of its offense from Nate Dane, who completed 15 of 22 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Greg Swenson had four receptions for 89 yards, including scoring plays of 25 and 59 yards.
Jason Young rushed 27 times for 187 yards and two touchdowns for Hoover (0-5).
La Canada’s Glenn Falkenberg made two of the Spartans’ three interceptions to end Hoover scoring threats.
