The Missing Cellist
Wednesday night after teaching a woman’s studies class, I hurried home to read the paper. I found the review of the Kronos Quartet concert which I attended at the Barclay Monday night (“They Broke the Sound Barrier,” by Mark Swed, Oct. 13). I was astounded that the picture of the only woman in the quartet was not included. Why? That omission is unconscionable, disrespectful, disgraceful and thoughtless.
I am outraged that the photo editor would allow this to happen. No one simply looking at the picture would even guess that the article was about a quartet (that’s four people) let alone that the person left out was a woman. You owe the cellist an apology.
