A consultant has been hired to launch a statewide search for the city’s new chief administrative officer, officials said this week.
The City Council voted 4 to 1 to hire DMG Maximus consultants of Sacramento to recruit a replacement for Jody Hall-Esser, who announced in May that she will retire in June 1999 after 25 years of work for the city.
The consultants hope to present the council with a list of candidates by January, said city personnel director Gordon Youngs.
The new chief administrative officer, who will be paid between $102,000 and $125,000 per year, may begin work as early as March, Youngs said.
